Kodawari Ramen Honored with the 2018 Enseigne d’Or for Originality

Once Again, Ramen Culture Recognized in France with the 2018 Enseigne d’Or for Originality Awarded to Kodawari Ramen.

On Monday, October 1, 2018, at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, during a ceremony opened by Michelin-starred chef Thierry Marx and hosted by Alain Boutigny and Philippe de Mareilhac, Kodawari Ramen was honored with the 2018 Enseigne d’Or for Originality. The award was presented by a jury of distinguished personalities in front of over 2,000 guests from the retail and commerce world.

For 26 years, the Enseigne d’Or has celebrated the most remarkable and innovative concepts. This professional accolade perfectly recognizes chef Jean-Baptiste Meusnier’s vision: capturing a slice of Japan to introduce diners to the intricacy and elegance of a bowl of ramen in an immersive setting.

“I have a proudly claimed love for ramen, this popular dish, and I’ve made it my mission to be its ambassador. The atmosphere we’ve created in our restaurant is immersive and authentic—a recreation of an old Japanese alleyway, complete with Tokyo manhole covers, posters, lantern lights, and the sounds of bustling streets, transporting diners to Japan for the duration of their meal,” said chef Jean-Baptiste Meusnier.

This award also celebrates the passion for Japan and the sincere, uncompromising love for ramen culture shared by chef Jean-Baptiste Meusnier, Fleur Meusnier, and their dedicated team.

A well-deserved tribute to the artistry and authenticity of Kodawari Ramen!
